Perfect Match

I was watching something on TV the other day, something that mentioned a software to find your perfect match. You input your answers to various questions, you input your data, like age, gender, etc, etc, and the software will scan it database and return, in theory, your perfect match.
Of course, this is assuming every other person on Earth is part of the database, and has answered honestly.

Is it honestly that easy? Even in theory? You just match answers and vital stats and VOILA! "THE PERFECT MATCH!!"

But is that your perfect match? Truly? Is your perfect match the person who wants the same colour of walls as you do? The same number of children that you do? The same everything as you do? Yes, of course! To a computer maybe.. Perfect compatibility in case of a computer is the perfect match of all attributes. Is it true for humans as well? I don't think so.

While I don't believe opposites make for the perfect matches, another person who is you isn't your perfect match either. S/he can be your bestestest friend in the whole world, but your perfect match is a whole new ballgame.

This person should not be diametrically opposite but should not be perfectly aligned as well. Imagine how boring life would be if you were living with your replica/clone/call it whatever. You would never be surprised, always know what to expect. While this seems like a perfectly fine arrangement to many, I am not talking about perfectly fine. I am talking about divine. I am talking about mad. I am talking about the magic that they show in movies and you read about in book.

To me, perfection is flawed. It is cold and aloof. It is something you admire from a distance. It does not touch me.

Finding someone who shares your fundamental beliefs, your core values and yet is different enough that you don't know what to expect. Someone who challenges you, who excites you, who forces you to think and is yet is familiar enough to want to be with would be your perfect match.

Go look for your perfect match... I found mine... :)

While a computer might not hook people up, desperation drives people to such ends. If there's one thing about love I've learnt in all these years, its that not everyone finds it and there can never be a perfect formula to find it either. It just happens. To be in love with love itself, to believe in such a miracle, to be a dreamer is what helps one find love. Seems like just yesterday, but I've been in love since 2004!

P.S. Btw, perfect timing, just today I fabricated another surprise which is very relevant to your post :-)
